Consultation has concluded

We have produced a Supplementary Planning Document for Locally Listed Buildings and are asking for your comments. This document explains what local listing is and our nomination and adoption process.

Please read the Locally Listed Buildings- Supplementary Planning document and submit your comments using the ideas board below. The document is available online and in PDF form in the document section of this page.

Comments can be submitted until 19 October 2021.

Important information:

  • What is it? - A Local List allows for the identification of heritage buildings and structures considered important to the character and appearance of the community. The supplementary planning document is the format the Council will use to provide formal guidance for the understanding of what is locally significant and why, how to designate assets and how to consider them during an application.

  • Why are we doing it? - The historic environment is a finite and valuable resource. By identifying assets, which are not designated, these assets can be recognised and highlighted to ensure they are maintained for the enjoyment of future generations.

  • How will it affect residents? - The document is not designed to prevent development and work to these assets. The purpose is to highlight them within the process to ensure any proposed alterations properly consider their local significance.

Paper copies of the document are available at:

  • The Council House, Avenue Road, Malvern
  • Upton-upon-Severn Library, School Lane
  • Tenbury Wells Library, 24 Teme Street
